Using "Save-Data" header with an Image CDN to improve UX
We are happy to announce that we added support of “Save-Data” client hint in Pixboost and to celebrate we decided to write a blog about it! The internet was created more than 30 years ago and has been getting faster and faster ever since. Every 2-3 years, mobile and home networks see an advancement in technologies and standards. More recently, the 5G rollout has gained traction in the mobile space, as Mesh WiFi and fibre make their way into homes.
January 2021 Update
Hi there, It’s 2021, and we’ve already shipped some new exciting features around several components. Here is a quick recap of what we’ve been working on! Enhancements in AVIF support As you might know we’ve released AVIF support last year and there were limitations on the source file size and support of PNG images with transparency. We are happy to announce that we removed both limitations and completed our AVIF journey with the latest release of our API.
Load Your Images Faster with the Next-Gen AVIF Format
Images have come to dominate the Internet. Most of today’s websites are comprised of 50 to 80 percent images. Here at Pixboost, our mission is to optimize images, making them as small as possible so that we can serve them to our users as fast as possible. So we were excited to begin implementing the new image format, AVIF, which is supported in the latest version of Chrome (86), and which will be supported in the next version of Firefox.
